The history of scooter

As a kind of sports equipment, the scooter originated from surfing, and evolved into an independent skateboard in the late 1950s and early 1960s, and then further developed a variety of forms of electric scooters and personal transportation tools. This historical overview reveals not only the origins of the scooter, but also its transformation from a recreational activity to a practical means of transportation.

Originally evolved from surfing in the late 1950s, when surfers want to experience the fun of surfing when there are no waves, they try to place boards on the ground to simulate surfing, which is the earliest form of skateboarding. With the passage of time, the progress of technology and materials has made the shape, material and function of the skateboard have been greatly improved and developed, thus giving birth to the birth of the scooter.

The specific invention of the scooter is attributed to the efforts of German engineer Sieghartstxaka. In 1993, in order to solve the personal commuting problem, he creatively installed two skateboard wheels on an aluminum sheet and added a flexible metal handrail. This design greatly facilitated the mobility needs of individuals and became the prototype of modern scooters. Compared with the traditional skateboard, the scooter provided a more stable and fast sliding experience by adding handrails and improved design, and its speed could reach 20 km/h, which was a breakthrough progress at the time.

With the advancement of time, scooter culture has gradually formed and integrated into the lifestyle of young people, especially in Europe and the United States, scooters are not only a tool for leisure and entertainment, but also become a symbol of personality and the pursuit of freedom. In the 21st century, the emergence of electric scooters has pushed this market to a new climax, especially in some European and American cities, electric scooters have become the mainstream personal transportation tools.
